academy project
date: 2009
assignment: transformation of a small house by le Corbusier (1923)
location: corseaux, lake geneva, switzerlandÂ
this project is a homage to the small house le corbusier built
for his mother in 1923, situated on the bank of lake geneva.
the beauty of its design is concealed
in the poetic power of architectural details.
in the new design the concept of circular continuity is
preserved while the inner walls are disconnected
from the outer, creating a single room with a sculpture
at its core that defines the different areas.
the visual relation with the lake is repeated
by having a physical connection from the basement
with the water.
